With Injustice: Gods Among Us having been released for a little over a month now, we’ve all had an opportunity to play it and decide how we feel about it. Personally, I’m still playing it a few nights a week having some great on-line battles. Judging by what I’ve seen, and feedback on-line, everyone is pretty happy with Injustice.
As far as the character selection goes, NetherRealm did a great job giving us some characters we usually never get to use in this format such as: Solomon Grundy, Hawk Girl, Green Arrow, Bane, etc… We even got Aquaman who, if taken the time to master, can without a doubt hold his own and play an excellent game of positioning with his Trident. Having said that, there’s always characters we’d like to see in the game, specifically the kind with nice bouncy breasts. While we do have a nice set of women in this game, there are a few women I’d like to see pop up as DLC.
I should mention, as of the time this article was written, we’ve received two characters as DLC; Lobo and Batgirl. Batgirl is a gadget style player, and most use to spam her projectile followed by the line drop from what I’ve seen so far online. NetherRealm has announced we’re set to receive two more DLC characters before summer’s end, and it’s been leaked that they will be General Zod and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. While this may/may not be true, I’m hoping someone from my list below makes it into the game sooner than later.
So, without further delay, here is a top 7 list of DC females I’d like to play as in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Number 7 – Vixen

Vixen, not only has a sexy name, but has the body to match. When she moved from Africa to the US, she was able to get a job as a model, so we know those curves are legit. As for powers, Vixen possesses the innate ability to make direct contact with the Earth’s morphogenetic field, which is sometimes known as the “Red”. This allows her to mimic the abilities of animals. Apparently she has the ability to run like a Cheetah, fly like a Hawk, swim like a Dolphin, suck like a Jersey Girl, etc… I could think of some pretty sweet special moves and combos that could be pulled of with a power set like hers.

Number 6 – Starfire

With Starfire we have 52, Teen Titans, Red Hood and the Outlaws, etc… so many different costume designs could have come into play with her. I like the fact Starfire has superhuman strength, because most of the girls in Injustice are weaker, and use level interact-ables in the lower/weaker form, instead of picking them up like a power character. She also has the ability to fly, and absorb energy for projectiles, so everything is there to make her a serious threat in Injustice.

Number 5 – Huntress

As you may already know, Huntress has a few different identities, but that’s the beauty of adding her in this game. Her costumes could have had a nice range, bringing lots of variety, and sexiness to the table. Her move set would obviously stay the same, but we could have seen a few different takes on Huntress through DLC skin packs. A Joker skin pack was recently released that did just this, giving him three different takes from different DC stories, so I have total confidence a Huntress character with different skin packs could work.

Number 4 – Supergirl

I believe this is the girl that should have been in Injustice instead of Batgirl. We already have enough Batman characters, so adding yet another in as DLC doesn’t make sense to me (unless it was Poison Ivy, maybe). If they felt compelled to add a “Girl” into the mix, it should have been Supergirl, not Batgirl. Although her move set would obviously be close to Superman’s move set, they could have gave her enough unique moves and powers just as they did for Batgirl, plus we would have got to see a blonde in a short skirt.

Number 3 – Black Canary

Black Canary also started out without any powers, just a human dressed in a hot outfit fighting crime. She could have had a nice parry move set, kinda like Batman’s parry move, but they could have elaborated on it, made her a good close-quarters fighter. Think Nina Williams from Tekken, but less grapply (I made that word up, it’s cool though). I’ve heard lots of talk from fans wanting her in, but more than likely, we won’t be seeing her as a playable DLC character, but one can hope.

Number 2 – Zatanna

Super sexy, and would have been a great gadget player. Her magic and tricks could have made for some cool special moves, meter burns, and combos. Injustice did a great job for bringing some characters into a fighting game that have never really been there, like Grundy and Green Arrow, I’m surprised they left the sexy Zatanna out of the mix, she’s definitely a fan favorite. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Boon and his team listen, she’s definitely wanted.

Number 1 – Power Girl

Come on!!! She should be in Injustice, no questions asked. She would have fit perfectly into the “power – flying” character group with Wonder Woman, Sinestro, Green Lantern, etc… She has a great move set, is an interesting DC character, looks amazing, and will without a doubt bring in some coinage via DLC character. When I heard about this game last year, she was one of the first characters that came to mind, so I’m disappointed to say the least that Power Girl is still MIA. I expected her to be a standard character, but who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky and find that Mr. Boon has been hiding her up his sleeve. Time will tell.
