Titanfall Release Date and CE Details Announced

Ok, so this isn’t quite “NSFW,” but it’s still really fucking awesome.

Respawn just released details for the upcoming Titanfall Collector’s Edition as well as the official release date for the game. The CE will cost you $249 and will include an 18-inch Titan statue with motorized cockpit as well as an artbook and poster. As an added bonus, all that will come in a diorama-style package complete with LED lights. I’m not planning on shelling out the money for all that, but I have to admit the statue looks pretty cool.

You can pre-order the extremely limited Titanfall Collector’s Edition on the Titanfall website. The game drops March 11, 2014.

Half the cost of the damn system? I thought the Blacklist being $180 and getting an RC plane was a little nuts. How rich do they think gamers are?

I think the statue looks cool but I’m not paying that much for it. Besides, I’ll just wait for the PS4 one anyways

Now I’ll admit, I’ve dropped some serious dough for some CEs, but this is nuts! Yeah, it looks cool, but they need to keep in mind that, not only is this extremely high priced, it is also a new and untested franchise. There’s no real fan base, no proven record of quality here, so how can they expect folks to just drop $249 like that? I can buy 4 new games with that money and a good meal, so what do they have that’ll convince me to buy this set instead?

And yeah, I’ll wait for a PS4 version too.

Just thought about how Kingdoms of Amalur came out with a CE and then fell flat. Seems like if you’re a new studio with a new IP, you should at most risk bumping up to a steelbook/ soundtrack/ artbook combo on your preorders. I give a big thumbs-up to West and Zampella for having the balls to go this big on their new game, but I also hope they haven’t put all their eggs in one basket- with a hole in it. Only time will tell.

i actually loooove kingdom of amalur and wish that company had the chance to really make it…but for this game…i reeeally want that statue lol

Well the article does say it’s an extremely limited CE, so I don’t think there’s an issue with loss of moneys. They’ll sell em’. And what it really boils down to, is a $190 statue. Cause the game would run you $60 by itself. And if you fellas look at the collectible market for something that scale, it’s about right. It’s got leds in it as well. And an artbook, so… I think though the price is high, it’s alright considering the content.

But yeah looks cool. But I’ll go with a standard copy myself.
