While us nerdy Westerners were lazily spending the last three days of 2012 recovering from Christmas dinner and getting angry at best-of-the-year lists, the nerds of Japan were probably doing the same thing only a few hours before us. Well, that and attending Comiket 83.
What is Comiket 83 you may ask? To put it simply, it’s Japan’s version of San Diego Comic-Con. Held twice a year in Tokyo (once in August the other in December), Comiket 83 gets up to half a million attendees and is the premiere place for self published comics. Meaning, those hentai comics that you read online, this is where a lot of them come from.
One thing the Comiket 83 and Comic-Con both have in common is the over abundance of cosplayers, ranging from the sexy to the bizarre. So as a service to our readers, here are some the best/weirdest displays of cosplay that were collected over the past three days of the convention.
