The NSFW Gamer Podcast Episode 24

The NSFW Gamer Podcast Episode 24

Since things are always a bit slow in the video game industry a few weeks leading up to E3, Jeff and I decided to do another movie audio commentary track over Memorial Day weekend. Thanks to a suggestion on our Facebook fan page we decided to watch The Terminator.

Keep in mind, we recorded this on Memorial Day…after we had been drinking and smoking all day long. Think of it less as an “audio commentary” track and more like a “watching Terminator with your friends while drinking and smoking” track. You’ll be less disgusted that way. On the plus side, we did turn the podcast into a drinking game so that’s something lol. Enjoy!

Rules of the drinking game courtesy of DrinkingFor.com

– Anyone says “Connor”
– A vehicle is damaged
– There is a flash forward to the future
– The film goes into Terminator vision
– Anyone screams/yells
– Anyone is physically injured

Here’s the picture of me and Michael Biehn I promised I’d post on the podcast

    About Arnold wanting to play the good guy, that is incorrect sir. I’m a huge Terminator 2 fan (it’s my favorite movie which I own multiples of, including Laser Disc), and of course a fan of the franchise in general. This is from IMDB;

    Lance Henriksen was originally considered for the role of The Terminator. Writer/director James Cameron even made early sketches showing The Terminator looking like Henriksen. The original concept was for the character to be able to blend into a crowd. Cameron approached Arnold Schwarzenegger and wanted him to play the role of Kyle Reese, but after their meeting, Schwarzenegger and Cameron both wanted Schwarzenegger to play the title role, so Henriksen was cast in the role of Det. Vukovich. Curiously, Henriksen later got to play the part of a humanoid cyborg when he played Bishop in “Aliens”, also directed by Cameron.

    Also, on the back of the VHS case for The Terminator, is a short discription that says pretty much the same thing. I’ll take a pic as proof and throw it up on the NSFW facebook page.

    James Cameron never worked on T3 because he did everything he wanted in the first two films. That was it. And the ending of T2 tied up all the lose ends into a perfect little bow. They seriously had to fuck with the lore to even make T3 work. It really should not have existed. T3 should have been what Terminator Salvation was, and what I wanted T3 to be, the future wars. That’s what I most wanted to see. I don’t hate T3, but I’m not a big fan of it. That T-X, sure she was hot, but it was so stupid. I’m glad we’ve never seen anything more about it. It was just a mash up of the T-800 and T-1000 with gun arms. I didn’t find it to be at all original. It feels like a ten year old created it. I just wanted the future wars and the shit Conner had to go through to get a Terminator and send it back. I wanted to see what kind of person he had become as an adult.

    But yeah, anyway, Cameron just wanted no part of T3.

    @Noah – Well, I was pretty drunk when we recorded it lol. Good catch though. Did you partake in the drinking game while you listened?

  4. Noah says:

    No, no booze.
