It has been over a year since any mention of Kung Fu Factory’s Girl Fight.
The game was originally scheduled for a 2012 release but missed that window by far. Turns out that the developer was just focusing on finishing Spartacus Legends and are now back at work on the girly brawler.
Trailer and details after the jump.
A teaser trailer for the game appeared online last week and today in the PlayStation store with the Tuesday update. Xbox.com is listing a release date of 09/10/2013 and has a synopsis posted. The girls are being forced to battle with their fists and psychic powers as part of a secret government research project. Players will be rewarded with virtual currency that will unlock costumes, backstory, and new psychic powers. The Xbox achievement list managed to get leaked out as well but the rather generic list did not provide any new insight.
Follow the journey of eight fierce females with psychic powers who battle each other within a secret government research facility! Fight using both hand-to-hand combat and supernatural psychic attacks in a wide variety of doomsday scenarios! Perform awesome moves in battle to earn virtual currency to unlock extra content, such as new psychic abilities, alternate costumes, in-depth backstory, and sexy illustrations of the girls! Psychic warfare starts here!
The game has my interest and since it looks like Konami will never make another Rumble Roses game this might be the only Dead or Alive alternative that we see before the end of this console generation. If the release date quoted on Xbox.com is accurate then the game will be coming out a week after the release of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate. Does Majesco and Kung Fu Factory have a contender on their hands or should this game have stayed forgotten? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
