For the unfamiliar, Dengeki is a Japanese publisher of light novels (think novels aimed at teens or young adults) with many of their novels being adapted into successful manga and anime series. Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax seeks to bring characters from across many of their series into one bright, flashy fighting game.
The game has been confirmed for arcades and consoles (though which ones are yet to be announced). Currently the game is undergoing a location test in Japan along with a trailer and a smattering of gameplay videos.
The question is though, will it come to the west? Well, do characters from the likes of Sword Art Online, Shakugan no Shana, Durarara!!, and Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai mean anything to you? What about the your average gamer? Also the publisher is SEGA so that’s pretty much your answer right there.
Still, being an anime and fighting game fan I’d love to get my hands on Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, but until the game gets announced for the west (or I get an import copy when it gets released) all I can do is drool at the footage.
