Senran Kagura Burst must have sold pretty well because we are getting three new games based on the series later this year. The weird thing is, they aren’t all 3D brawlers like Burst was.
First, and the only one we have a video for, is Dekamori Senran Kagura, a cooking-rhythm game. Yup, you read that correctly. Apparently you’ll be battling other big breasted ninjas with your mad cooking skills instead of your fists. Thankfully it looks like the series’ trademark fan service is in full effect, at least in the intro video. Dekamori Senran Kagura will be released in Japan on March 20 for the PlayStation Vita and PSP.
Next we have Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, a true sequel to Senran Kagura Burst for the 3DS, which is being developed by Marvelous AQL (the dev team that worked on Burst). It features two male characters as well as all the girls from the first game and is scheduled for an August 7 release.
Finally there’s Senran Kagura: Estival Versus coming out for various PlayStation devices later this year. I don’t know anything about that game.
If you read my review for Senran Kagura Burst then you know I’m a fan of the series. I don’t know what to think of Dekamori Senran Kagura just yet but I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes on Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson and Senran Kagura: Estival Versus in the coming months. Hopefully some of these titles will see a US release later this year.
