Because fan-favorite video game publisher Atlus is bringing the tactical RPG Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time to the PSP at the end of July, I figured it would be a good time to introduce gamers to the series’ lead artist, Satoshi Urushihara.
Satoshi Urushihara is practically a living legend in Japan, and while this particular ‘Artist Spotlight’ article might be old news to anime and hentai fans, US gamers (PSP owners in particular) will probably find it helpful.
I first discovered Satoshi Urushihara through one of his earlier works, the 1994 anime ‘Plastic Little’, and then years later I was re-introduced to him when I looked though a random issue of his ‘Legend of Lemnear’ manga series at a comic book store. What caught my eye – and pretty much everyone else’s I imagine – is the fact that everything has a glossy shine to it (including skin and clothes)…oh and he draws boobs perfectly.
Since Satoshi Urushihara has amassed such a large collection of mangas, animes, and art books over the years, this is more of a starter series for those of you who didn’t know who he was until you heard Atlus was bringing Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time to the US. A simple Google image search with bring up a lot of pics but you can also check out his tag on Gelbooru (link is NSFW).
